Company History

Tracing our beginnings back to 1986, the company was founded by Armando Racelis Jr. as a single proprietorship under the name Scan Industrial Sales. In those early days, the company was initially a promoter and supplier of SKF machinery steel and Stalweld welding electrodes to sugar and oil mills. Fueled by the needs of our satisfied customers, we expanded our portfolio to include Victory White Metal Babbitt, Eurobronze metals and Abrasion Resistant steel plates.

In a relatively short amount of time, we were able to carve out a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy supplier of quality steel. Anchored on the enterprising leadership of our founder and the strong relationships from our initial customers, our business grew quickly as our clientele expanded across the country and across different industries. This prompted the incorporation of the company in 1988 and a change into the name that we carry to this day, First Scan Phils., Inc.

In the succeeding years, we strengthened our position in the special steels industry by further expanding our expertise and portfolio to include Stainless Steels, Chromium Carbide Clad plates, Armor-grade steel and various fabrication services. In providing solutions to the needs of both our long-standing and new customers, we have emerged as one of the leading and most recognized distributors in our field to the cement, mining, power, sugar and armoring services industries.

At First Scan Phils., Inc., we create partnerships. As the Philippines continues in its industrialization, we shall remain an active and key partner in providing solutions to the needs of our customers as industries evolve. We have done this through our commitment to integrity, quality, reliability, excellence and efficiency.
